"The Block" Roggenbier
Most beers are made from malted barley but some, like our popular German Wheat Beer, include other cereal grains. Rarer still is this authentic German Rye Beer. Get it? Weizen is German for wheat, roggen is German for rye. Roggenbier is everything you know and love about weizenbier: grainy, slightly hazy, bready, with hints of banana, black pepper, clove, and citrus. But compared to barley and wheat, rye adds subtle spice and tartness. Our blend of caramelized malts will remind you of toasty oven-fresh pumpernickel. As a finishing touch, we proudly introduce to you a rare new German aroma hop variety which further enhances the sweet citrus and perfumey notes. Rogg on, St. Louis!
