Business Philosophicalizationalizing

Well, not much has changed in my life the since I blogged last.  In fact, it goes something like this.  Get up, eat, get in car, work, go to home depot, work, kick Dylan in the shins, work, get a project 80% complete, try something else, sleep. Repeat.

This past week, I arrived home at midnight and my dad said, “Got off early this evening?"

Wait, that may be the most interesting part of this blog that really hasn’t been delved in

I live with my parents.  That’s right.  I’m 37.  I certainly am not proud of the situation but I am definitely thankful.  Basically, it costs a lot of money to open a brewery.  Way more than I had originally anticipated and though I used to be all into lots of gold, bling, retirement plans and savings, I decided to cut out that diversification “planning for the future” mumbo jumbo and play a little “James Bond” brewery poker.  Besides, it’s not like social security is going anywhere.  Oh crap...”What’s that you say?”  Too late now.

Things are moving into warp speed at the brewery which is good because this past week during a conversation with Dylan, I realized that it is very possible he believes extra-terrestrials have visited earth.  At that point, I called my freakishly tall architect again to see if we could add padded walls to the mop room. This is all funny because Dylan is the first and only Sci-fi anti-technology dichotomy on this planet.

But all kidding aside, Dylan was most certainly abducted by aliens at some point in his life.  It has been said he travelled from Galaxy to Galaxy perfecting beer recipes for Droids.  Good thing they returned him to earth, I think he arrived in an egg more like Mork from Ork though rather than Lady Gaga style.  Just wait till you taste some of his beer. (No pressure at all there Dylan)  We are tasting some of our final test batches tonight.  I’ll have him or best yet have him report on them soon.

So here is the lowdown on the current showdown.  Painting.  I have been painting and painting.  Next time, I am going to buy a 600 square foot building rather than 6000 square feet of which we added another 800 square feet.

Dylan began work on building the boiler room yesterday and we have three much needed concrete pads to pour outside before the end of next week or early the week after it when... wait for it.

Wait for it.

Our brewhouse arrives.  One quick look at the state of the brewery now would make anyone quickly state, “No way are you ready.”  To which, I will say.  You are wrong.  We will find a way to get ready by then.  How is another question.

Gotta run back to the brewery and see if Dylan is finished setting up his ham radio.

Hello earthlings. I have been sent here to open a brewery. I hope you have time over the next year to check in from time to time and see our progress (or lack there of at times).

I look forward to helping you come along for the ride through this blog. For me, there is no better feeling than creating a place and a product that becomes part of peoples lives. I am focused, immensely passionate and hopeful that each of you one day will toast “To the Civil Life.”
