American Pale Ale
This is based on a style the Brits call "Extra Special Bitter" but we substituted all American ingredients. Bready malts balanced by earthy/weedy/fruity hop bitterness. Strong nutty flavours, orange marmalade on toast, butter brickle ice cream, cherry sauce, roasted chicory root, Madeira wine tannins, sparkling mineral water. Lots of weird stuff which you wouldn't think would work well together...but it works...just like America! That's seriously patriotic craft beer, baby! It's not IPA, it's ESB, except brewed by Americans for Americans. God bless and good night.
